EMPULSE FAQ

Movement is Freedom. Outmove your opponent or get outgunned.

EMPULSE is a fast-paced 6v6 movement shooter set in the post-utopian streets of Freehold, where wall-running, grappling, Holojumps, and P.A.I.N.T. Bombs form the foundation of every fight, and where player-controllable mechs become the most contested objective.

EMPULSE is launching in Early Access on June 24th across Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. EMPULSE Early Access will be priced at $19.99 on June 24th (with an additional launch week-discount), but will be playable for FREE beginning during Steam Next Fest.

Will the game have PVE?
PvE will not be a part of the game at Early Access. Our intention is to focus on strong moment-to-moment multiplayer PVP gameplay at the onset. As we continue to develop the game and it grows, we hope to explore other ways to make EMPULSE have a deep engagement loop.
What are your plans for monetization?
There are no plans to monetize during Early Access apart from actually purchasing the game.
What platforms is the game available on?
You can play on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. We also have crossplay, so you can play with your friends no matter what platform they’re on.
Do you support Linux?
We are experimenting with Linux support through Proton 10.0-1 and above. If you run into any issues with it let us know.
Is EMPULSE Steam Deck verified?
Not yet. The game should be playable on Steam Deck, but we still have to work out some issues with the platform before we are fully verified on it. We only support vanilla/default SteamOS through Proton 10.0-1 and above so if you are using alternatives like Bazzite you might run into some issues
Are controllers supported?
Yes. Our current plans is there won't be input based match making as we put a lot working to balance controller vs M+K/B and we want to keep matchmaking simple.
Do you support 8K polling rate for mice?
Not at the moment. If you use an 8k polling rate for your mouse you will encounter FPS drops while playing. We support 4k polling rates and below at this time.
Where are the servers for the game located?
We'll have servers in the following regions: US West, US East, EU Central, Southeast Asia, Oceania, and South America. Our matchmaking system will prioritize regions nearest to your location but it will expand search parameters over time so players may end up on a region further away from their physical location which can result in experiencing higher ping.
I found a bug while playing! Where can I report that?
While playing EMPULSE, access the social menu from the top right of the main menu screen and look for the question mark icon and select Report A Bug. You can also report bugs here.
I have some feedback on EMPULSE. Where can I give that?
You can share your feedback here.
What kind of Anti-Cheat will EMPULSE be using?
We'll be using RedKard, our own kernel-level anti-cheat as well as other proprietary systems. RedKard only runs when EMPULSE is launched and closes down once EMPULSE is closed.
Are there any plans for esports?
There are no formal esports plans for Early Access. Our initial focus is to develop the game with the community before doing any esports initiatives.
I'm a content creator, can I stream and/or make content about EMPULSE?
Absolutely. There are no restrictions on streaming or capturing gameplay in our demo during Steam Next Fest or in Early Access. Make sure that when you post, you tag us on our socials.
