Try out these steps if you are running into issues with installing or updating EMPULSE on PC.
Basic Troubleshooting Steps
Sometimes the simplest solution is to see if restarting your computer resolves the issue as it could be a one-off technical issue. To restart you computer follow these steps:
- Open the Windows start menu
- Right-click the Windows icon and hover over Shut down or sign out
- Click Restart
Running as an administrator can help ensure that the correct permissions are enabled to allow files to be correctly installed onto your storage device:
- Close out of Steam
- Right-click the icon on your desktop or in your Windows start menu for your launcher, then click Run as administrator
- Click Yes on the User Accounts Control popup
- Afterwards the program will launch with administrator privileges
- Try downloading/updating EMPULSE again
If you are seeing a Disk Write or Windows Cannot Find Game Executable error, then it is possible that your Anti-Virus is interfering with the installing/updating process. We recommend temporarily disabling any Anti-Virus software you may have running and then trying to download/update EMPULSE again. Once the game is installed/updated properly you can reenable your Anti-Virus.
Verifying your local game files can help with initiating a patch/update that isn't showing up correctly for you.
For Steam follow these steps:
- Right click on EMPULSE in your Steam library and click Properties
- Click on Installed Files on the left hand side
- Click Verify integrity of game files
- Restart the game after verification is complete
